COFIB Wildlife Recovery Centre in Mallorca

The Wildlife Recovery Centre in Mallorca was established in 2001. Initially created by the Natura Parc Foundation, it became part of the Consorci per a la Recuperació de la Fauna de les Illes Balears (Consortium for Wildlife Recovery in the Balearic Islands) in 2004, when the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands and the Natura Parc Foundation reached an agreement for the management, recovery and care of wildlife in Mallorca.

This centre has specialised staff, a healthcare area (with a hospital, laboratory and necropsy room), a recovery area (moulting, cages and facilities for the rehabilitation of the fauna) and an section of irrecoverable animals for environmental education.
